The repair job is invisible — exactly as it should be. Branko's level of detail is insane! Plus they actually show up when they say they will and treat your home with great respect.
Every historic home carries a century of craft. We're here to honor it — with the skills, patience, and reverence it deserves.
“Branko has been working to preserve and restore the 19th century wood flooring in the bottom floor at Mabry-Hazen House and done a top notch job. The floor joists and many of the boards were severely termite damaged decades ago and had been a spongy mess covered by plywood since then. Branko came in and methodically removed the floorboards, assessed them for damage, built a new flooring frame, and milled boards to match the original — I can’t speak highly enough of his work so far. I can confidently say the work meets the DOI historic preservation standards and will make a lasting improvement to the historic house museum.”

Branko and Rachel respect the bones of the house. They restored details I thought were lost. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.
Honest pricing, no surprises, and the worksite was clean every single day. They treat an old house like it deserves to last another hundred years.
They treat an old house like it deserves to last another hundred years. That's the right attitude, and it shows up in the work.
Three contractors said our windows had to be replaced. Branko rebuilt the sashes and they work better than they did when I bought the house. He's so easy to work with!
Rachel and Branko are a husband-and-wife team that specialize in restoring and renovating historic homes. Both grew up in historic houses — Rachel in upstate New York, Branko in Australia — and have made Knoxville their home. They've fallen hard for this scrappy little city and the architecture that built it.
They own several historic homes themselves, and launched this business to pursue their love of restoring historic houses, commercial buildings, and other properties across Knoxville. Their portfolio includes work on the Mabry-Hazen House, multiple George Barber homes, and a range of commercial properties throughout the area. Branko has also built houses from the ground up — new construction informed by decades of craft.
They are dedicated to quality, cleanliness, and care of your property and your project. They pride themselves on showing up on time, their professionalism, their reliability, and treating your place with the respect and care it deserves.
When a 130-year-old staircase still works, you don't replace it — you restore it so it can shine for the next 100 years. We do wet plaster, not drywall patches. We rebuild sashes, not vinyl windows.
The historic homes of Knoxville deserve tradespeople who actually understand them. Not contractors who treat a 100-year-old craftsman like a new build.
We bring hands-on expertise in the materials, methods, and details that define historic construction — wet plaster, original millwork, wooden window restoration, masonry repointing, and more. We work with the home, not against it.
We serve homeowners across Knoxville's historic districts — Old North, Fourth & Gill, Parkridge, Marble Springs, Colonial Village, South Knoxville, and beyond — who want their home's character preserved, not erased.
Serving the homes that tell Knoxville's story — with the craftsmanship they deserve.
Masonry cleaning & repointing, slate and tile roof repair, repair and replacement of historic wooden features.
We repair historic wooden windows rather than replace them — rebuilding sashes, replacing cords, lead paint abatement done right.
Traditional wet plaster repair for walls and ceilings — preserving sound dampening, fire rating, and the depth that drywall can't fake.
Restoration of original molding, trim, staircases, newel posts, and custom milled profiles to match what was there in 1895.
Repair and preservation of original siding, custom porch millwork, structural rebuilds for sagging porches and turned balusters.
Refinishing original heart pine, oak, and chestnut flooring. Restoration of trim, transoms, pocket doors, and built-ins.
Interior and exterior, using specialized coatings designed for older substrates and historically accurate color palettes.
Drainage systems and grading to keep water away from old foundations — the unglamorous work that saves the rest of the house.
We work with homeowners, property owners, and historic preservation projects across Knoxville and the surrounding area. Tell us about your house, and we'll be in touch within a couple of business days.
